Back Country Skiing

Yesterday was amazing. We took the gondola up to the top of the Dachstein where we skied a short way across the glacier climbed up a ladder that was resting against a cliff, through a tunnel in the mountain, across a traverse just above about a 150 meter (not feet) cliff followed by an extremely steep run followed by two more cliffs that where even bigger, then across a ridge that dropped steeply in both directions and finally we came out on the most amazing steep and deep slope. Long and untracked just the way I like it. I captured a few of us including Kim on film so we will see if can put together another movie for you guys. I might just save it till I have a little more footage from another trip. After the first slope we hit another and another and another, but unfortunately the further we went down the warmer it got and by the end we were skiing in about 2 feet of slush. Riding on the very backs of our skis straight down the hill. If you stood up you just stopped in the middle of the hill. Heading nowhere fast. What a great run. I can’t wait till we do it again.
